Happy 2nd birthday Little Bear!

Chris and I celebrated the second birthday of *someone* very near and dear to us, yesterday. Here are a few clues, can you guess who? He's tiny and full of fur. He loves to lick, eat leaves, play with sticks, give high-fives, and sit on the laps of pretty girls. ;-) Yes, it is none other than our one and only Bear, the littlest McLean.

What a joy he has been to us since the day we brought him home. He was given to us as a surprise wedding gift, and has truly been just that, a gift. He never ceases to make us smile and laugh with his little antics -- like when he's outside chasing his beloved squirrels, or running laps around our dining table. One of the most lovable things about him though, is the way he just loves to curl up and snuggle in your lap. He's stolen quite a few hearts since his time in Norfolk (am I not right, ladies?) and is always a popular attraction for guests entering our home. Sometimes I think friends visit just to see him! :)

In honor of his big day -- turning the ripe old age of two -- we wanted to celebrate by giving him a little party here at home. I even had our local, gourmet cup cake shop, Carolina Cupcakery, bake him up some special "pupcakes" for the occasion. Below are a few pictures from our little celebration.

All of Bear's birthday goodies: oatmeal, apple pupcakes, a new birthday sweater (his beloved fleece had finally seen its last day), a squirrel toy, a dental Greenie chew, and yes...more poopie bags!

The birthday boy.

There's the birthday smile! :)

Pupcake time!

Licking up every crumb!

Giving Bear his new toy, a squirrel! I finally found one that didn't contain stuffing -- which means it should hopefully last longer than one day. :)

Enjoying his new prize after the thrill of the chase.

So all of the excitement of the day -- and all of the extra-special treats enjoyed -- made for a very party *pooped* Bear. (I think he just was excited to start using his new birthday poopie bags, and he wanted to share the experience with his pa.) ;-)
