First Day

After many long weeks filled with job searching, interviewing, planning, packing, and moving, the big day finally arrived. Monday, April 4 marked the beginning of an exciting civilian career for Chris at a dynamic, thriving company here in Charlotte.

For those of you who share our love for Apple's iPad, iPhone, and other brilliantly-dreamed up products, you can now thank Chris for playing a small part in your fun. His new company produces a part that plays a very integral role in making those sparkly products function, as well as powering some snazzy, new hybrid vehicles. Pretty nifty, eh? (Now if only I can work out a way to get some freebies, right? ;-) I suppose I should wait until at least day three to put in that request.)

Anyhow, being the doting, proud, annoying wonderful wife that I am, I couldn't resist taking a photo of Chris before he left for his first day at the new job. Who could resist such a handsome guy? Not me. :)

Side note: Here's yet another reason I love Charlotte: The Banana Republic Factory Store at Concord Mills. We went on a little work-clothes shopping spree (the ole uniform just wasn't going to cut it anymore) for Chris last week and brought home about $600 worth of Banana clothing for $200. I could get used to this. :-)

Chris had a great first day. He's loving pretty much everything about the job so far, including the great group of people he'll be directly working with in his new position.

Many thanks to all of our friends and family members who took time to send well-wishes for Chris's first day. Your words and prayers mean so much, and we value your loving support and encouragement more than you know as we begin this new chapter in our lives.

P.S. In addition to settling into our cozy little apartment, and Chris beginning his new job, we have been busy bees house hunting. If you pull our legs, we may, just may, have fun news to share soon! ;-)
