For the past eight months (since getting involved with our church, Harvest Church Central) I have had the wonderful pleasure of hosting a monthly woman's group in my home, called "Ladies Night Out."
Chris had been faithfully serving our church on the maintenance team and I wanted to be able to serve as well. Being the homemaker that I am, it had been on my heart for a while to open up our home for outreach and community, and the opportunity to host a group just for ladies was right up my alley. It's been such a blessing to witness the many new friendships formed over the past months, and see lives changed as we have gathered together with the common goal of deepening our walk with the Lord and each other.
God created us with a desire for fellowship and the need for community. As women -- married or single -- we need support, encouragement, and fellowship from other women. An opportunity to share in life together, laugh together, and sometimes even cry together.
I'm so thankful for each and every woman that has walked through my door, and pray that much fruit will come from the special moments we've shared together.
In anticipation of the big changes taking place in our life in the next months, I made the decision to step down from leadership in this group, and this past weekend was my final evening hosting "Ladies Night Out" in my home.
I have passed the torch of leadership on to our teaching pastor's wife, who is an amazing and lovely woman, deeply gifted with hospitality and a love for others. While it's bittersweet for me to let it go, I'm excited for all God will continue to do through this group. Here are a few pictures from our evening together this past Friday.
A must at all of our events is delicious food, and this Friday was no exception.
Beverages included freshly-ground, organic french press coffee, a selection of hot teas, and a non-alcoholic sparkling berry champagne.
Group Photoshoot (thank you new camera with timer setting!)
(Unfortunately, not all of our ladies are represented, as we've had a revolving group of 70 women present over the months.)
You can't put this many women in a room without things going a little crazy... ;-)
