Happy Valentine's Day!

First things first. I'd like to wish my wonderful, amazing, incredible, smart, funny, silly, sexy, lovable, kissable, hug-able (okay, okay, I'll stop -- you get the point) husband a very, very VERY Happy Valentine's Day! Baby, you're all I've ever wanted and more, and there is no one I'd rather have as my valentine than you. Here's to a thousand more days of love to celebrate together. :)

I have a lot more McLean Valentine's Day fun to share, but you'll just have to wait a few more days to see how we chose to celebrate. :)

But now, without further ado, here is the sweet treat I promised you: The Chocolate Mint Honey Pattie!

I am such a mint-aholic and have always been a sucker for the not-so-healthy peppermint patty. Over the years we have transitioned to a pure, organic diet, and I've been on the look-out for a natural alternative to my favorite minty treat. The other day while doing my weekly shopping at our local organic co-op, I stumbled across a box of these on the counter and scooped up a few to take for a "test spin." My verdict: awesome! Perfectly creamy mint center, with just the right amount of chocolate sweetness.

In addition to only being sweetened by raw, organic honey, these patties are nut free, gluten free, and dairy free! I did a quick search online and they are available for purchase by the box here. I don't know about you, but I plan to buy a box and tuck it away in the freezer to slowly enjoy as I please. My mom convinced me somewhere down the line that frozen chocolate is even better than room-temperature chocolate. She's right. Trust me on this one. ;-)

Now for something completely different...

My laundry buddy wanted to say "hi." :) Have a beautiful, love-filled day all! I'm off to take my favorite pup for a run outside as we enjoy the glorious sunshine and warmth of this Valentine's Day.

Happy fingers

For a while now, I have been on the hunt for a great line of non-toxic nail polishes. I was excited to discover a few weeks ago that the company I purchase my mineral makeup through, Ecoglo Minerals (highly recommend -- made without nanoparticles or micronized minerals, in addition to being free of parabens, talc, dyes, or chemicals -- and great prices!) introduced a natural, eco-friendly version, called Scotch Naturals.

I purchased my first bottle last week in the "Kiltlifter" (red) shade, and have been loving it so far. Not only is there no scent or odor whatsoever -- which means I don't have to go outside to apply in order to avoid the nauseating odor of my traditional polishes -- it also went on smoothly and with bold color, using only a little bit of paint.

Scotch Naturals polish is available in a variety of chic colors. I can't wait to add the rest to my collection, starting with Loch Ness Mystery:
