So proud

As we celebrate and honor our Navy SEALS on their incredible victory this past weekend, and once again thank God for the courage and dedication shown by our military, I wanted to take a quick moment to share my pride and love for the military officer nearest and dearest to my heart: my husband.

A short time after we moved to Charlotte, an unexpected package arrived at our door for Chris. Inside was the esteemed Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal.

Signed by the Vice Admiral himself, this medal was awarded to Chris for:

"Meritorious service as Assistant Battle Watch Captain for the Joint Operations Directorate on the staff of the Commander, U.S. Fleet Forces Command. Displaying exceptional motivation and administrative expertise, his in-depth knowledge, broad experience, and effectiveness as an Assistant Battle Watch Captain made lasting and significant contributions to U.S. Fleet Forces Command during extremely high-tempo operations in support of the U.S. Northern Command, U.S. Joint Forces Command, U.S. Strategic Command, and the Chief of Naval Operations. By His exceptional professionalism and selfless devotion to duty, Lieutenant McLean upheld the highest traditions of the United States Naval Service."

Receiving this award is an incredible honor, and I am just bursting with pride over my husband and his beautiful example of hard work and honorable leadership, both at home, and in the workplace.
